Short version: we collect nothing. Your images never leave your device. Here's exactly what that means.
Img2Format is a free, browser-based image converter. It converts images between formats including PNG, JPG, WebP, AVIF, BMP, GIF and TIFF โ all inside your browser, with no server involved.
This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it and what we don't do. Because the tool is designed around privacy from the ground up, most of this document is confirming what we don't collect rather than explaining what we do.
We do not collect personally identifiable information. There is no registration, no login form and no mechanism to tie any action on this site to a specific person.
If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and the content of your message. We use that only to respond to you. We do not add it to any mailing list, share it with anyone or use it for any other purpose.
We may collect basic, anonymous usage data through analytics. This is described in Section 05.
Your files never leave your device. When you drop an image into Img2Format, the browser reads it using the FileReader API and processes it using the Canvas API. The converted file is generated entirely in memory and downloaded directly to your device.
No image data is transmitted over the internet. No file is stored on any server. We have no access to what you convert, no log of file names and no record of file sizes or types.
This is not a policy promise we can choose to break later. It is a technical reality. The tool has no server-side component to send data to.
Img2Format does not use cookies for tracking or advertising.
The tool uses localStorage to remember one preference: your light or dark mode setting. This data stays on your device, is never transmitted anywhere and contains no personal information. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's local storage.
No third-party cookies are set by this tool.
We may use basic, privacy-respecting analytics to understand how people use the site in aggregate. This means we might know things like:
This data is aggregated and anonymous. No individual user is identified or tracked across sessions. We do not use Google Analytics or any ad-based tracking platform. Any analytics we use do not involve selling data to third parties.
Img2Format loads two JavaScript libraries from a public CDN (Cloudflare):
When your browser loads these libraries, a request is made to Cloudflare's servers. Cloudflare may log that request as part of their standard CDN operations. We have no control over Cloudflare's data practices. You can review their privacy policy at cloudflare.com.
We also load the Poppins font from Google Fonts. This involves a request to Google's servers. Google may log the request. Their privacy policy applies to that interaction.
Img2Format does not knowingly collect any data from children under the age of 13. The tool does not require any personal information to use and has no features directed at children specifically.
If you believe a child has submitted personal information through the contact form, email us at [email protected] and we will delete it immediately.
Because we collect no personal data tied to individuals, most data rights requests do not apply in a practical sense. We have nothing to hand over, correct or delete.
If you emailed us and want that correspondence deleted, contact us at [email protected] and we will remove it from our inbox.
If you are in the EU and believe we have processed your personal data in a way that violates GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. That said, given the architecture of this tool, meaningful personal data processing on our end is essentially impossible.
We may update this policy as the tool evolves. The date at the top reflects the most recent revision. We won't notify users individually since no contact details are collected.
Material changes โ such as introducing new third-party services โ will be reflected here promptly. Check this page if you want to stay current.

We aim to respond within 48 hours.
Not a feature. Not a setting. The tool is built so we physically can't see your files.
