๐Ÿ”’ Your files never leave your device. All conversion happens in your browser using the Canvas API. Img2Format has no server, no database and no access to any file you process through this tool.

General Use

Img2Format is a free, browser-based image conversion tool. It converts image files between formats including PNG, JPG, WebP, AVIF, BMP, GIF and TIFF. The tool is provided as-is, free of charge, for personal and professional use.

By using Img2Format, you accept that the tool may not be suitable for every use case. Output quality depends on the source file, the target format and the settings you choose. We make no guarantees about the output being identical to what a desktop application would produce.

No Liability for Output Quality

Different formats handle color, transparency and compression differently. Converting between them can result in visual changes. GIF is limited to 256 colors. JPEG uses lossy compression. Converting a lossless image to a lossy format will reduce quality.

We are not responsible for any quality loss, color shift or other visual difference that results from format conversion. Always keep a copy of your original file before converting.

Your Files Are Your Responsibility

Img2Format does not verify the ownership or copyright of any file you convert. You are solely responsible for having the right to use, convert and distribute the images you process through this tool.

Do not use Img2Format to convert files you do not own or do not have permission to modify. We accept no responsibility for any misuse of this tool in relation to copyrighted material.

Browser Compatibility

Img2Format relies on browser APIs including the Canvas API, FileReader and Blob. These are supported in all modern browsers. Older browsers may not support every output format.

AVIF output, for example, requires a browser that supports AVIF encoding. If your browser does not support a format, the conversion may fail silently or fall back to a PNG output. We recommend using an up-to-date version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge.

โš ๏ธ HEIC note: Browser-based HEIC encoding is not currently supported by any major browser. If you select HEIC as the output format, your file will be saved as a JPEG with a .heic extension. The image data is correct โ€” only the format label differs.

No Data Collection

Img2Format does not collect, store or transmit your images or any personally identifiable information. There is no sign-up, no account and no tracking of what files you convert.

We may use basic, anonymous analytics to understand how the page is used in aggregate. No individual user data is tied to that information.

Third-Party Libraries

Img2Format uses two open-source JavaScript libraries loaded from a public CDN: JSZip for batch ZIP packaging and jsPDF for PDF output. Both run entirely in your browser.

We are not affiliated with either library. Their respective licenses apply to their code. We use them solely to provide batch download and PDF functionality without requiring a server.

No Warranty

Img2Format is provided without warranty of any kind. We do our best to keep it working correctly, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability or error-free output in every situation.

If the tool produces unexpected results, keep your original file and try a different browser or format setting. If you find a bug, we genuinely want to know about it.

Changes to This Disclaimer

We may update this page as the tool evolves. The date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of Img2Format after any changes means you accept the updated terms.
